Soooooooo forums seem dead, what are u fools up to in wow? i'm waiting for the rest of the noobs in my guild to get 70 so we can start Karazhan. Meanwhile i'm pissed off at the poor quality of the pvp gear, its a pathetic joke, aside from arena gear that is, might have to give that a go.

lol, nice work. Sounds like you must be one of the few good rogues. Myself - I'm currently lvl 67 (almost 68) as I haven't been playing a great deal. I'm in BE mountains and questing with Brenton (and often without him, cause he works a lot and I become impatient). Brenton - his rogue has actually become useful over the past few weeks. He's finally found a spec that works for PvE, so it's no longer me doing everything when we quest. Sometimes he even pulls aggro! Zomg! (Although I have threat reduction talents now, lol). He's also 67, but only a little way into it. I also have a new Oceanic raiding guild lined up if I want to go into a hardcore raiding guild. I probably will, but we'll see. It means I'll be going Holy, which I have no problem with. Of course, after I use Holy to get leet gear, I'll be going back to shadow

=) I finally got tbc after having to wait 2 weeks from its release date, which was infuriating. And made 70 in about a week, which was a bit silly. I was all worried that I'd be left behind by my guild because it was taking ages to arrive, and now most are still around the 65 mark I had this big-headed thing with feral druid damage, because tanking instances and still being top of damage was happening far too often, but just found that the ppl i was with kinda suck. Played with some of the more established people for a bit and i'm put back in my place. =3 But yeah, the big thing now is jsut waiting for enough 70's to start raiding places. It's all 5-mans atm which is still good fun, but i'm eager to see how raids go in TBC. Me and 2 other guildies were mucking around in BEM and we decided to go into that raid instance there. Gruul's lair or something? I cant rememebr its name but has ogres. Anyway we thought for kicks we'd pull one. hahaha. it hit me a couple times then Mortal Strike'd for 8k. Me in bearform with about 11k armor (in dps gear at the time) but still. Funny as hell. Can't wait to be doing that stuff properly. 5-mans are odd, their either too easy or too hard. But I guess as we do them more and get used to how they work we'll become better. I HATE Shadow Laboratory... urg. All the other Auchindoun instances are piss easy but theres just something about Shadow Labs that kicks my ass. Sure a few ppl can 'do' the instance but god damn I hate that MC'ing ogre, Blackheart the Inciter or whatnot. I've never seen the bastard die. I either join a group and get to him, couple wipes and ppl piss off. Or I join a group thats already past him =/ Its just me I swear. =( Murmur is fun tho. Did a super smooth Shattered halls run this morning and everything just 'clicked'. Great instance and you cant jsut sit on your ass because in a lot of areas monsters will just keep spawning so you have to always push forward. And yes the pvp gear is jsut a joke. The arena stuff isnt bad, thats sure, but its not 'zomg' like the pre-tbc stuff was. Maybe because its easier to get now? (even though you only get one piece at a time) The arena stuff will be hard to get, because you can do down in ratings similar to losing honor in the old honor system. But a losing streak really kicks your rating's ass. Thy say its best to do a couple really focused and successful arenas and then leave it for the week. Trying to do too many just risks your rating too much. But I have to read up on that again.... I hope to get the Gladiators maul, with like +650 AP for feral forms amongst other things, but the pvp armor... i dunno doesnt seem like that much of an upgrade, but we'll see. Normal pvp bg's are a waste of time, I got the "Dreamer's Dragonstaff" (from Botanica wing of tempest keep) and its just as good as the 'normal' pvp bg's weapon... Feels strange to go from almost all epics to tbc greens and blues. Still have a couple epics that have yet to be 'taken over'. Don't have a proper tbc epic yet, they seem much more difficult to get. But I guess tbc is still new. Trying to figure out what faction to get rep with first. I joined the Scryers for the alchy recipe, as both really didn't seem to have much for me... Sha'tar and Lower City give nice items but the rep u only get in instances when your honored and above so I cant just grind solo for a bit... prolly a good thing.. I really dont want to have to do something like the Cenarion Circle grind to exalted in silithus... *shudder* that was horrible. Anyway, that went on a bit longer than i expected.. hehe. Good to see you guys again. I do drop in to read every so-often.

Wait, Scryer has an alchemy recipe? Gah, I knew there was some reason I chose them!
Unforunately, I was then talked out of it, and went with Aldor. Apparently they're better for DPS casters (actually thats just as annoying, considering I'll be going Holy at lvl 70). Gah!
Oh well, on the plus side, I've already had several Fel Armaments (2 of them dropped within 5 minutes when I was helping Brenton with a quest - it was quite hilarious, he was pissed because he's with the Scryers and hasn't seen any Tomes or whatever you guys need).
By the way, I was wrong about Brenton. He's actually only level 66. I was wondering how he managed to catch up so much. Turns out it was because he didn't.
Speaking of WoW, the patch has just been released, so I'm gonna go start downloading it.
Tell me, what IS the Alch recipe? (By the way, dontcha just love herbalism in Outland? Random buffs from Dreaming Glory etc, and makes it even easier to get Motes etc, as well as additional stuff like the Fel Blossoms. It's just awesome.)

i went scryers for the shoulder enchant, wtb more crit! got 1600ish AP but only like 19.something crit anyways im lovin the 5 mans, back like the good old days, also i like the fact that raid sizes are smaller, i had the most fun in ZG and AQ and such, dunno why just like it smaller. i just hope i can organise all my shit so i can actually raid this year, would be nice since theres no other decent way aside from arena to get gear, might just stay at uni late and raid there so im not interrupted lol and arach how do u still have 60 epics? the only peice of gear i still use from 60 is my rank 14 dagger offhand cause im too cheap to buy a new one lol, the 70 blues shit all over 60 epics, well for me anyway and arach ur not the only silly one i got 66-70 in 2 days >.<

I still have my lower rank PvP gloves (the blue ones) because of the 50% chance to avoid interruptions when casting Mind Blast. I ALMOST swapped them the other day, but they were JUST better in the end, so I imagine they'll go soon enough.
I also have the epic PvP shoulders and helm. Since all my other PvP has been swapped out for terrible looking greens, I fear the day I have to swap my awesome looking helm for a turban, and my spikey-flamey shoulders for something equally ridiculous and terrible looking. But it's gotta happen.
I'm just happy that I like the look of Tier 4 for priests, and LOVE the look of tier 5 for priests. Woot, wings!
Also, talors can make an awesome +frost and shadow dmg set, which I'd love, but it's BoP! It's the one thing making me regret being an alchemist. That stuff is so nice. But still, it'll get replaced with raiding and pots never will, so I guess that's something I can be happy about.

The only 60 epic i have is the pvp epic gloves for druid. They are still the best. Although i caught wind of a couple of other gloves that i may replace my pvp ones with in the near future. But they are epics too. I havent seen any tbc green or blue gloves better, (or better enough to grind for), than my pvp gloves.
The only scryer potion recipe is i think either a fire resistance, or +fire spell dmg pot. dont worry you're not missing out on much.

Ding, hit lvl 69 tonight.
Also applied today for a new Oceanic Raiding guild on Stonemaul. Been in talks with them, and it's looking good. So my holy spec is planned out and my healbotting days are approaching rapidly.
Better start looking for good healing gear I guess. I've got a couple of things in mind.

Yeah attunement looks like a bit of a bitch. Have to get a flying mount just to start with, and then do Mechanar, Bontanica, Arcatraz, Durnholde and The Dark Portal chain... (wait, come to think of it, that TBC diagram was a little confusing, and it actually said you could do ONLY Durnholde and The Dark Portal to get the Karazhan key.)
What is it referring to anyway by "The Dark Portal." It makes it sound like an instance... are they talking about the Black Morass? Because I don't see that listed anywhere.

Well I hit 70 tonight, and within 2 minutes I was flying around Outland, and within 15 minutes I was specced to Holy and on my way to Sethik Halls to help out a guildie.
And it's there that I found out after months of not healing, I am a TERRIBLE healer. Well, that's a little harsh, but having had no time to properly organise my new holy spells and put them in easy to remember places (also, the fact that it was 6am wouldnt have helped) meant my heals were fairly leet for normal mobs, but when we got to this boss who summons dozens of elementals, I sucked.
Not to mention the fact that after wiping two times, I still had forgotten to EVER heal after death cause I'd completely forgotten Spirit of Redemption. Also I only remembered Lightwell because I was MC'd and my character made one while I was under the control of someone else, lol.
I'm hoping things pick up though, because right now I'm considering the fact that changing to holy may have been a huge mistake. Shadow was so easy and so simple. Holy is difficult, full of pressure, and the first to be blamed if the instance goes down... and raids will be coming soon enough as well.
Oh DEAR.

Nah Holy isnt hard to get used to. DW I forget to use Spirit of Redemption for the first few seconds, so i waste maybe 1 heal. Just go around with me tonight and heal, and pretend we're in an instance, throwing down lightwells and stuff, you'll get used to it. thats how i got used to holy with jangles. I ran around with a lock and pretended that was an instance.

I've made some adjustments already to my hotbar, hopefully it'll go down better. I've also moved Shadow Word Death away from where my ~ key is linked, so I want accidentally make a horrid mistake mid-instance, lol.
And yes Brenton, we'll do that. But I also wanna go do some lowbie instances (Coilfangs, maybe even the HP ones) as practice also.

Yep, no probs. Remember though, outside instances, even if you're holy you arent restricted to healing. Holy can still dish out decent damage. Just remember to keep an eye on our health

Ok, well today I taught myself how to DPS as a holy priest (still FAR worse than Shadow, but that's to be expected) and also adjusted my hotbar for better healing.
I wasn't the greatest healer in the world, but I was vastly improved. Good day for progress overall.

If i have to tank another Black Morass I'm gonna scream. Especially if the priest keeps forgetting to dispel boss #2. Otherwise, its a great, fun, one-fight-long instance =) Attunement to kara turned out rather easy because its somewhat along the line of things you'll be doing at 70 anyway, running Shadow Labs, Arcatraz, Morass, etc. My guild does its first official Karazhan run tonight, Should be fun. Finally enough ppl attuned =p For kicks I got a priest to proc Inspiration on me with my best armor gear on. Mwahaha 27.9k armor. You heard me. Sadly if you see in the PTR notes bears get a bit of a reduction to their armor, So I wont see it that high again ='( Also reduces their damage, health, makes a talent useless, and because of the damage loss threat generation will go down.. Lots of druids are upset about the changes actually, but i think their noobs if they cant suck it up and deal with it. If they leave the game my position becomes so much better. >=D Been doing too many shattered halls runs lately, getting people revered so they can do heroic HFC instances. But the other night we had an awesome idea after surviving a mass-overpull. Bears right now, well, the good ones, can tank a large number of mobs at once. So we pull a group at a time, 5-8 lvl 70 elites, and the Bear (me) tanks them all. The healer loves it, because he only needs to heal me, and dps can jsut kill one thing at a time till theres none left. No crowd control like sheep, traps, etc. None. Just a bear. Now its pretty stupid but it worked well. The healer is very good, and i managed to make enough general aggro on all the mobs by swiping and constantly changing targets. And when we get to the end of the instance, the priest goes. "So do you think you could tank the boss and his adds?" The party, including me, laughed. And we all basically said "what the hell". So i tank bladefist at the top of the stairs and everyone else runs to the back of the arena, whenever an add runs in I faerie fire it or swipe it as it runs past, and soon enough I've got a pile of mobs on me. I get a little breather to make more general aggro on the adds when kargath runs around, but he always returns. He died really fast because the dps only attacked him, ignored the adds, which run off anyway when he dies. We all rejoice, and pally and hunter gear drops, none are in the party =P Makes the instance go much faster, a group at a time, so only about an hour and a half. That will prolly change when the patch comes out tho... swipe will be doing a lot less dmg cause its idol gets reduced from +50 swipe dmg to +10... making it useless. I ramble and toot my own horn there yeah but I'm proud of it. The priest said he got screenies of the end fight. =) We got kinda pwnd tho this morning, had our first go at heroic ramparts. And all i can say is Ouch =o The mobs hit hard. We'll definately be refining tactics and pulls for a bit. Sadly the server was deciding to restart when we were up to the beastmaster before the first boss, so didnt get a chance to try him. I'm looking at going from full feral beary goodness to a hybrid bear/healer. I was one for about a month before patch 2 came out last year and it wasnt bad. I jsut dont know how its going to be with the deeper talent trees of now, and the gear. Although the gear doesnt look that bad..... got most of the Moonglade set which had hybrid all over it but I jsut dont know if its feasible.. Will wait till after the patch and see how things go. Do any of you play a druid? Hah I got the quest yesterday for the key to Tempest Keep. The raid instance. HAH. I gotta finish Shattered halls, Shadow Labs, Arcatraz and i think Morass all on heroic. HAHAHAHAA. Thats not happening any time soon =p I love the mana regen priests have, makes long fights so much easier. Like Black Morass, sure you can stop for a quick drink between each portal, but it goes much smoother if you don't need to (or not often)... One of our priest is crazy about mana regen gear: (the call for a nerf is a joke of course, Sita hersef having a priest alt) Anyway I'm tired and jsut about to go to bed. I dont mean to ramble but I'm just tryin' to keep in touch, since we're not playing on the same server or CS anymore... Good to see you lads and grats on 70 for those of you that are! Those that arent; its not about the levels its about having fun! But get to 70 so i can grats you too! =p P.S. Oooh jsut had to add, been raping Shadow labs recently, mwahaha die blackheart die! Hooray! Make sure the tank knows to run from Murmur when he's charging up and then charge back in after the boom. No complaining! If the tank isnt agile enough for the stance changes to charge back in he's a noob! It makes the fight a million times easier! =p I crit in kitty form for 5.9k! You heard me! It was pure bollocks tho =P Our guild decided to go and do AQ40 even tho most of us were level 70. The mobs there take loads of damage because of the level difference >=D But because we never actually did AQ40 before tbc, (we were only up to farming mc/ony with attempts at BWL) and we only had 25 ppl we wiped on the first boss at like 2% and then half the ppl jsut gave up and left =P We're noobs XD Best crit on a normal mob is about 4.5k. At about 2500AP, 36% crit rate. Dont let it fool you! Good rogues and mages in instances kick my ass at dps, and so they should! We even had a run the other day where we were 1 man short so we got a pug warrior and omfg the kicked ASS at damage! Yes! A warrior! They were a fury warrior with 2 one-handed epic lvl 70 Hammers that had a bit over 80dps on them each. They themselves were the hammersmith and omfg first in a loooong time that i've had to really work to keep aggro. Btw now that i think about it, or more that i think about it and I realise i have no idea, what are all you guys' class&spec?

Priest - Holy. And because I'm holy, and not disc, with shitty mana regen gear (going for +healing) I don't have the awesome mana bar that you suggest. I run out of mana fairly often. 1 group pull usually takes up about half of it, maybe more. I guess if I were disc with mana gear my mana regen would be insane... but with Holy and healing gear I don't need as many heals, and hopefully pull less aggro, to get the job done. Although I do need far better gear as it stands. My heals are pretty cool, far better than when I was shadow (as could be expected) but still need a lot of better gear to make reasonable. Me in Kara will be a joke, and I doubt I'll even be able to heal for the first boss in Setthek Halls (the one with the elemental adds) as I tried that when I first went Holy (and hadnt fixed up my hotbar or become used to the new spells/abilities, so we were doomed anyway) and it was disastrous against that guy. Although we didnt have enough DPS which was our main problem, but my healing didnt help either. Still, Im improving with each day. Sigh, Shadow is so much better

Well I just spent the night in Shadow Lab wiping to Blackheart the Inciter. Everything before that was a cakewalk, and we seemed to have a good group, but we fell apart at Blackheart. We wiped like 5 times before giving up.
Yet I don't think it was entirely my fault. I seemed to run out of mana pretty fast, but the fights went from 2-4 minutes, and we never really got him past half health. Surely that's a problem with DPS, not healing, if we have 4 minutes to kill someone and dont. After that though, everyone's health is low and my mana is depleted (as it has been for some time, but I heal every time I get some back) and we wipe.
Terrible waste of time. And that was the first step to my Kara attunement =S

He's a pain isnt he ^^ Understand my initial frustrations with him? =D
Just did a Heroic Ramparts tonight, it went really well but we wiped a few too many times on the 2nd last boss, the demon, cant remember his name. And only had enough time for 2 tries on the Dragon+Rider boss =) So ultimately unsuccessful, but we gig get some Badges from 2 bosses at least. =D
Also did Karazhan for the first time tonight.... and it was a joke. Our people are sooooooo out of practice with raiding. Its not easy-going anymore, everyone has to do their job and do it well. And it seemed that everyone had been picking up bad habits from the Pugs they levelled on. Wasn't smooth at all and only got one boss, Midnight and Attun (come as a pair).

Well 1 boss is better than no bosses, so consider yourself lucky there.
Also, do the badges of justice drop for everyone in the party, or are they rolled for as a single item?

Everyone in the party, although it might give you a bit of a start when it comes up "this will bind to you when you pick it up" blah blah, but theres a version of the badge on the boss for everyone.
And we did get two bosses, the patrolling guy and the demon, so ma first 2 badges! yaay =D
