Im in the process of reading the book and while I hardly ever read novels this one is absolutely awesome. Most times I end up reading for an extra hour cause I cant put it down. Anyway with the movie coming out here is the HD trailer. Looks pretty awesome with a great cast. I personally cant wait. www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/da_vinci_code/hd/

Yeah the book was fucking awesome. I read about half in one sitting, and then went to go to bed, but my head was buzzing with it too much so i got out of bed and read the 2nd half as well. I finished as the sun came up =D

Alan, maybe you SHOULD try to read other books. I was like that for a lot of the time with the Dark Tower series.

PLOTWhile in Paris on business, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-night phone call: the elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum. Near the body, police have found a baffling cipher. Solving the enigmatic riddle, Langdon is stunned to discover it leads to a trail of clues hidden in the works of Da Vinci…clues visible for all to see…and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter. Langdon joins forces with a gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, and learns the late curator was involved in the Priory of Sion—an actual secret society whose members included Sir Isaac Newton, Botticelli, Victor Hugo, and Da Vinci, among others. The Louvre curator has sacrificed his life to protect the Priory's most sacred trust: the location of a vastly important religious relic, hidden for centuries. In a breathless race through Paris, London, and beyond, Langdon and Neveu match wits with a faceless powerbroker who appears to work for Opus Dei—a clandestine, Vatican-sanctioned Catholic sect believed to have long plotted to seize the Priory's secret. Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine puzzle in time, the Priory's secret—and a stunning historical truth—will be lost forever. In an exhilarating blend of relentless adventure, scholarly intrigue, and cutting wit, symbologist Robert Langdon (first introduced in Dan Brown's bestselling Angels & Demons) is the most original character to appear in years. THE DA VINCI CODE heralds the arrival of a new breed of lightening-paced, intelligent thriller…surprising at every twist, absorbing at every turn, and in the end, utterly unpredictable…right up to its astonishing conclusion. Alan, maybe you SHOULD try to read other books. I was like that for a lot of the time with the Dark Tower series. I have read a few other books but they've been so boring and shit. This book is written like a movie, maybe why I like it so much. EDITAnd I should add if your christian you wont like the book

I have read a few other books but they've been so boring and shit. This book is written like a movie, maybe why I like it so much. So you're saying this book is one that requires absolutely no imaginition at all? That's... depressing. I finished the Dark Tower books a few months ago, and will probably start reading them again soon... since I'm finding it depressing that it's all over. Also, many of Steven King's other books are linked to them, which is why I'm now going to have to read all his other books to find out which ones. So far The Stand, Insomnia and Salem's Lot seem like books I should have read BEFORE reading the Dark Tower. Lucky I'd see the Stand (7 hour movie) and read Insomnia (which is the reason I started the dark tower.) Although you'll probably be even less inclined to ever try and read the series when I tell you that it's 7 books long... EDIT: Also, I picked up a Byrce Courtenay book the other day, and thought I'd give him a try. April Fools Day, it was called. Little did I realise it was about his dead son. Depressing? Extremely. After reading 50 pages, I put it down and went to sleep knowing I'd never look at it again.

Pfft he means its paced like a movie, u still need imagination.
The book is a lot about uncovering hidden thuths about christianity, poking holes here, making secret things known that high-ranking christians _dont_ want ppl to know. very contraversial. very.
Of course, it does twist some of them to enchance the book, but hey if u want to read something 100% realistic go read a report, some statistics you pedantic s.o.b.

I read the Dark Tower. How is that even remotely realistic?
And here's the truth about Christianity: It's a cult worshipping some 'invisible guy' who created everything and is almighty, to give them the power to do whatever they want and not feel guilty because they can be 'forgiven' for anything.
It's a joke. I don't need to read a book to see that.

Yeah, having a big one does get in the way often.
Although Alan is right. I have a tendency of REFUSING to do anything others recommend. But you should be able to sympathise with that Alan, or have you seen Virus now?
I was up at the house today and saw that we HAVE Da Vinci Code. It's sitting there... but meh. I have other books.
