I'll blame having just watched Sin City for the state of mind that brought about this thought. I recommend you all see it, btw.
If you were walking a path you knew well, that you had walked many times before, and when you turned the corner, instead of there being what you knew as fact would be there, there is instead someplace completely different. A different street, a different floor of the building, something like that, not something as simple as construction work or moving room.
The first thing I think many would do is double back and check that the path you took was the one you thought it was. On conformation of that, however, what would your thoughts then be?
Would you be doubting your own state of mind or memory? Or perhaps you would doubt reality itself?
I haven't made this a poll as there's likely more answers than this.

i would instantly assume someone is doing it...not reality or my mind...i can pin almost everything that happens on human cause..

i think it would be pretty funny.. ive done a similar thing one where i walked out of the wrong entrance at a pub. and walked down a street that looked exactly the same as mine in the dark when i was drunk. ended up being totally lost and having to catch a taxi that took me about five streets from where i was hahaha

Id probably think
"Hmm this isnt where i parked, oh well this mysterious lane way must lead somewhere. Could be to my death, but somewhere none the less."
Cant wait to see Sin City!

Hmm, I don't think you guys are really getting my meaning, so I'll use an extreme.
You're walking to school/uni/whatever on a path you usually take. You turn a corner and you're in what looked to be an active warzone in Iraq. You can even see a group of U.S. soldiers in a firefight nearby. You look back and it is still your usuall path, you look forward again and the warzone is still there.
Yes, it's a great movie. Go. Now.

lol Id sneak up behind the soldiers and stab em, damn US peoples
this one time i was in the mall and every single person was standing perfectly still just staring ahead and there was dead silence, nobody was saying anything or moving and i was just walking through it all thinking what the fuck is going on?!! keep in mind i had watched that movie "The puppet masters" the night before and i was thinking no way! this cant be actually happening, it was just a movie, what going on!!! so i asked someone what was going on and they said "shhhhhh! its rememberance day and this is the minute of silence!"
so if shadows little example happend to me id just say "sweet" and assume i was crazy but enjoy it anyway.

*rides off into the sunset*
Well first I would double check that I was on the right path, but if it changed really drastically, ie Iraq, I'd wonder why I didnt notice it sooner. Also, considering it is really an extremely different area than here I'd be forced to believe that something supernatural is going on, as this kind of thing wouldnt just be a slip of the mind. ( I'd prolly make sure I hadn't walked through any archways or doors, as I've probably played Planescape: Torment too much =P )
I would be very tripped out tho, surprised, astonished and a little curious. But yeah, i wouldnt blame my mind if it was obviously not normal.

The whole point of this thread is to find out which you put more faith in. Your own mind or reality. Do you believe what you are told is true or do you constantly question this? Why do you believe in gravity, because you're told it's there or because you don't float off the ground?
