Ok I set the DRAM timing by SPD to Disabled and this is what it lets me change.
DRAM CAS# Latency [2.5 clocks] DRAM RAS# Precharge [4 clocks] DRAM RAS# to CAS# delay [4 clocks] DRAM Precharge delay [8 clocks] DRAM Burst Length [8 clocks]
I dunno about you but ive got no idea what they are and im not really game to fiddle with them.

OMG. Your ram is running slightly slower, cause you went out and get a shithouse brand instead of matching it with the already good one, and you're going to the ends of the earth to fix it. I can't believe how long you were trying to update the BIOS EVEN THOUGH it was an older version? How could you think changing to an older shitter version of the BIOS would solve the problem?
Here's the solution: Snap the shitty RAM in half and get another Kingston.
Here's a better solution: Throw your PC in the bin and start again with an AMD.

haha i thought both your sticks of memory were the same having your memory running slower than your cpu fsb does make a fair bit of difference to performance due to the fact that they are running out of sync

Well My computers all back together again. Just put in a 600w PSU cause my original one turned out to only be 400w. Also updated the BOIS which let me force the ram to go at 400Mhz... which it should be anyway, but for some reason is only going at 333 when set to automatic speed.
05/06
CPU: AMD 3200+ 64Bit Mobo: ASUS A8N Sli Ram: 2048MB 400 DDR(forced) Video: LeadTek 6600GT TDH Extreme Edition and LeadTek 6600GT TDH in SLi OS: WinXP SP2 Installed Approx 2 Months ago
Benchmarking Program: 3dMark03 Score: 14458
Benchmarking Program: 3dMark06 Score: 2581
I'm quite happy with the outcome of going SLi, considering before the 2nd video card I only got 8825 Marks. and RAM wouldnt change it that much =D
06 score is crap, but then again its prolly crap on even high-end systems, greedy thing it is, so i dont care. =D

Yeah I only get like 4000 and you can't get too much better than my PC without spending excessive amounts of money. I'm sure Brenton will do just that eventually, if he ever stops buying joysticks and controllers for his PC.

did you end up overclocking your second 6600gt to match the speeds of your first one. it would help them to run in sync a little better
