Are any of you looking to play WAR? (and i don't mean just testing the water while you continue playing WoW or whatever. you can only do one mmo at a time seriously)
I currently am playing AoC casually, just a few hours here and there, so i feel I could grab WAR and use it to fill the hours. I'm not too fussed juuust yet. The dust is settling after the betas have opened up so no rush. I was really only looking to give it a whirl in a month or two when things have been organized a bit better.
Main thing is it supposedly has real Aussie servers, like actually within our country, not just servers hosted in USA labeled 'oceanic' like WoW has. Should be good considering its mostly pvp, which sucked testicles on wow with the pings.
To be honest I'm not really all that fussed about WAR like some of the fervent warhammer tabletop fans. I feel it'd be nice to play some of, but no great loss if it turns out poor. I am pretty sure its gameplay is at least mediocre, and so its Warhammer Lore should pull it through into a 'good game'.
So were any of you looking to give it a go? Or still stuck thinking WoW still has interesting stuff to do or at least WotLK will make it fun again xD
Hey Hey, honestly if you're still having fun in WoW good luck to ya, that's what games are for. However at the start of the year I passed the mark in wow where logging in was a chore (the WoW icon on my desktop was an evil thing, taunting me) and I ended up sitting in the Bank most of the time chatting and waiting until the next raid. The game was finished for me.
WoW's a good game and all, regardless if your pride says otherwise. It certainly raised the bar for all MMO's to come. But i can only take so much.. and here i thought i had an addictive personality xD I still boggle at the people that have played WoW since opening and still play to this day. There's gotta be something wrong with that. I got to the point where i'd done everything i could possibly do solo. 99% of 5-man stuff. The only thing i had to look forward to was raids, the rest was repetition.
I know all conversations about new or different mmo's are so riddled with WoW comparisons its like someone filled a shotgun with shit and aimed it at a brick wall, so i figured I'd head off the "wow's better comments" with "yeah but wow is.. done." And imo you really cannot judge or even test a rival MMO when you're already playing another seriously. Starting a 2nd MMO feels like you've been playing Horde your whole wow life then decide to roll an Alliance alt on a different server; you're so cut off it immediately feels like a waste of time.
Ramble Ramble Ramble Yeah whatever.
So back to the original question, Who's giving WAR a shot?
